Flat screen HD TVs feature screens that are flat, thin, sharp and film-like. With improved production capabilities and volume,flat screen HDTV screen sizes now ranges from 20 inches to over 70 inches. These make them much superior to conventional analogue TV sets. With such features and improvements they can also be expensive. In fact, a single flat screen HD TV has an average price of $1,500 to $9,000 (depending on the specs and size). With more market penetration and mass acceptance of this new exciting format, industry experts believe that the price of flat screen HD TVs will plummet in the coming years due to creative innovations by the big manufacturers led by Philips, Sony and Panasonic. There are also some smaller players that have come into this segment too. These so-called newbies in the business have started producing quality flat screen HD TVs. These include PC-related companies such as Dell and Hewlett-Packard. These two are introducing a range of cheap but quality flat screen HD TV sets to the market. Some analyst believe that flat screen HDTV-ready Plasma set could equal the present price value of a rear-projection HDTV-ready set.
